Villaricos, once a great Phoenician port, is a pleasant fishing village;
long forgotten, it sits perched precariously between the Sierra Almagrera
and the sea. The real charm of Villaricos lies in its old fashioned
simplicity and warmth of spirit. There is a fine sandy beach with a
pleasant beach bar, a number of cafes, bars and restaurants serving
excellent seafood.
As Villaricos is a traditional fishing village
that has its own community and not directly a mass tourist resort, it is
therefore open all year round and is an ideal place for winter
